A new song ! Inspired by a Russian folktale; The Snow Maiden's Song was written as part of a collaborative & multidisciplinary arts release organized by MDS Gallery (Lena Moro).

The Classic Mythological Story, well known in Russian Culture, takes place in an enchanted forest during a period of many years of winter - and is about a girl created from snow made with Love from father winter & mother spring - As she becomes a woman, she desires to know romantic love and thinks she’s found it from a boy who plays songs on a flute but alas he plays his songs for everyone & flirts with all the women of the village - another man falls in love with her and betrays his betrothed and everything he knows to be with her - she chooses him eventually as well, but as they are about to be together, the sun god shines after many years & ends the long winter & the snow maiden melts and then her would be lover drowns himself in a lake to be with her, as water forever !

As always I completely submersed myself in the creative process, and as I release it today I feel like I've lived a lifetime in the creation & journey of this song's production from start to finish in about a month. It always starts with just an idea ;) a few words floating around, a few "maybe" melodies ...a lot of doubt and letting go, ( repeat that a few times) and suddenly a song begins to feel like it is one, a song, like it "was always meant to be", and then the real fun comes in; harmonies and accompaniments as layers of color and texture, expanding space in stereo, guiding me to what it wants to be and finally becomes... my frequencies of love.
